Can Orange Co. leaders save homes from Osceola Parkway extension?
“Eminent domain was just one of the subjects discussing during Tuesday’s meeting of the Orange County Commission regarding the Wyndam Lakes Estates area, in Lake Nona.
Commissioners instructed the county attorney to prepare a no-build resolution that will express the County Commission’s position. That resolution will then be brought up for a vote at the Tuesday, July 15, meeting.
There are five proposed plans to extend Osceola Parkway east, past Narcoosee Road. This will be a project of the Osceola County Expressway Authority. One of the plans will bring the project into the Orange County area, going through Wyndam Lakes Estates.
The initial problem Orange County commissioners had is that legislation was rather ambiguous regarding possible eminent domain for the project.”
