Condemnations planned for 3 Overlook parcels
“Tonight’s meeting of the Rome City Commission includes one part of that assistance, as the board is slated to adopt a resolution to begin condemnation on three pieces of property through eminent domain.
Caucus is set to start at 5 p.m. in the Sam King Room at City Hall, 601 Broad St., with the Commission’s regular meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend both sessions.
Sandra Hudson, executive director of the NWGHA, said the properties involved — 1319 Crane St., 113 Stonewall St. and 111 Church St. — are tied up in either estate issues or complex financial matters.
The lots on Stonewall Street and Church Street are part of the development of the new Overlook at Fairgrounds that will be built on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard across from the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds.
