Clinton man speaks out about eminent domain
“It’s his land but the city says they want it. One Clinton man is about to lose a lot of ground.
Tim Bice now has 21.5 acres of land, but that’s the same 21.5 acres the Clinton City voted to seize last week.
“I don’t think it’s fair at all the somebody can just take property away from someone.”
It all started right here back in 2009. The Bice’s and the City of Clinton, both vying for the same plot of land.
“I was able to do it a little quicker than the city, I supposed they needed to go through a council meeting to purchase it.”
And for about a year and a half, Tim says things were great, until the city created what’s called a green space over the only right of way to his property. Meaning, he couldn’t drive there anymore.
“It’s like owning a house and you can’t park in your driveway.””
