Eminent domain sought for Freeport Parkway land in Coppell
“The Coppell City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a resolution to file eminent domain on property owner Joe Hardman’s 6,011 square-foot parcel of land.
The city’s engineering department has acquired all land needed, except for Hardman’s, to expand Freeport Parkway into four lanes.
The city has paid an average cost of $5 per square foot to other property owners along the roadway. Since 2009, the city has made three increasing offers to Hardman for his property, north of West Sandy Lake Road, where the city plans on constructing the roadway’ second phase.”
