New affordable housing set for Evans light rail station area
“More than 50 affordable housing units will be constructed along the southwest corridor of the Denver’s light rail network as part of a plan to provide lower-income residents with easy access to job and educational opportunities, the Urban Land Conservancy (ULC) announced Thursday.
The plan calls for the creation of “Evans Station Lofts”, named for the light rail station to which the development will be adjacent. The property will consist of a five-story development and contain 50 apartments, as well as commercial and retail space.
Rent for the apartments will be priced to serve households that earn between 30 and 60 percent of the area median income (AMI). In this particular area, for example, a family of three with an annual income between $21,450 and $42,840 would fall into the AMI range.”
