ODOT using eminent domain for Les Schwab land
“he Oregon Department of Transportation wants Les Schwab Tire Centers to sell land that’s needed for a $45 million overhaul of U.S. Highway 97.
The Bulletin newspaper reports that the agency has filed a lawsuit in Deschutes County under eminent domain laws.
ODOT seeks a roughly half-acre parcel on Bend’s south side.
Les Schwab has owned the undeveloped property since 2001. The state filed suit after the company rejected its undisclosed offer.”
