Greensboro moves to seize Cascade Saloon building
“The Greensboro City Council has voted to to begin eminent domain proceedings on the historic Cascade Saloon building in downtown, but there are concerns the building might fall down before repairs can be made, the News & Record reports.
The City Council has agreed to spend $700,000 on repairs. Built around 1896, the building near the railroad tracks has been vacant for decades and is in dire need of repairs. Part of the roof and the second floor have collapsed.”
