Neighbors United group lobbies in Jefferson City
“Members of the grassroots group Neighbors United traveled to Jefferson City on Wednesday March 18 to meet with elected officials at the Capitol building.
Landowners from Adair, Schuyler, Knox, Marion, and Shelby Counties met with Representatives Nate Walker, Craig Redmon, and Lindell Schumake, as well as Senator Brian Munzlinger, to express their concern about Ameren Transmission of Illinois’ proposed Mark Twain Transmission Project.
The Mark Twain Transmission Project is a proposed 100 mile high-voltage (345,000V) power line that would run from the Iowa border to Palmyra. Neighbors United has formed in response to this proposed project, with the goals of protecting landowners’ rights, and stopping the project in its entirety.”
