Eminent domain lawyer discusses issues with pipeline
“With the construction of the Mountain Valley Pipeline, local property owners may be at risk of losing their land.
Preserve the New River Valley invited Joe Waldo, an eminent domain lawyer from Norfolk, Virginia, to speak at Custom Catering on Monday to discuss property owner rights in regards to the pipeline.
In response to the potential construction, locals have complained about the pipeline running through their property, the possibility of condemnation of their houses and the potential court challenges.
According to the official MVP website, the pipeline will span 300 miles from northwestern West Virginia to southern Virginia.
Waldo spoke on Monday night about the property rights involved in building the interstate pipeline. Waldo and his firm, Waldo & Lyle, P.C., work with people who may lose their properties to eminent domain.”
