Highland Park ISD trustees vote to use eminent domain for parcel
“Highland Park ISD trustees voted Monday night to use eminent domain to acquire property on West Lovers Lane. The land, which is mostly vacant, used to be home to apartment buildings.
The district plans to acquire the 0.62 acre parcel, which is near its administrative building and Highland Park High School. The property is in the 4100 block of West Lovers Lane.
With their vote, trustees authorized negotiations with the property owner to buy the property. If no agreement is reached, the district will begin condemnation proceedings.”
