Man in eminent-domain battle over Atlantic City home takes his case online
“A Hammonton man who is fighting to save his family home from being taken under eminent domain has enlisted the help of the online community, racking up nearly 85,000 signatures supporting his cause through the social-action site Change.org.
“My parents—both immigrants and survivors of the Holocaust—left me many things: a love of this country, a deep passion for music and a home right near the boardwalk in Atlantic City. That home—my parents’ foothold in their adopted country—has been a source of love, tragedy and renewal to my family for the past 50 years,” Charles Birnbaum, who owns the home with his wife Lucinda, writes in his petition, posted on Nov. 4.”
