“Aldermen gave preliminary approval to pursue eminent domain, if necessary, to obtain an auto shop that’s part of the city’s plans to redevelop the historic Amerock building into a hotel and conference center.
Aldermen voted 10-1 Monday to authorize the city to make a final offer to purchase three properties owned by S&L Warshawsky’s Inc. at 431 S. Main St., 501 S. Main St. and 319 Cedar St. Eminent domain would be pursued if the offer is rejected. A final vote is scheduled for next week. Ald. Linda McNeely voted against.”
