Another Purple Line Legal Case Could Complicate Its Rollout
“Ajay Bhatt, who happens to be the president of Friends of the Capital Crescent Trail, the group who filed the lawsuit over amphipod habitats, put up a fence extending 14 feet past his property line next to the Georgetown Branch Trail. He is appealing a $500 citation he received, and Montgomery Circuit Court Judge Gary Bair’s decision in the matter could potentially force Montgomery County or the Maryland Transit Administration to use eminent domain (and spend big dollars) to get the $2.4 billion Purple Line completed.”
