Lebanon Utilities files eminent domain for new project

“Authority to declare eminent domain on two parcels of land was given to Lebanon Utilities by the Lebanon City Council Monday for the purpose of constructing a new lift station to serve the residents of the Prairie Creek subdivision.

LU General Manager Jay McCoskey said the Prairie Heights area needs an upgrade. The two 45-year-old canister-type lift stations there cannot function under water and are nearing the end of their design life, he said. To fix the problem, a new force main will be constructed to take the water back into town. The land in question, 1420 and 1470 West Ind. 32, is on the west side of Interstate 65, from behind KFC stretching north to the Farm Heritage Trail. A new 12-inch gravity line will be put in to connect the lift station behind KFC to a new lift station, to be built near the intersection of I-65 and the trail. The project will cost $1.2 million.”
