School district may face $500,000-plus cost in eminent domain case
“The School District of Beloit could end up paying at least $539,122 in the legal battle to acquire land along Milwaukee Road which is the site of its new intermediate school.
Attorneys for Anna Truckenbrod have file a petition in court for litigation expenses in the case, which totals $157,122. That cost is in addition to the $382,000 price tag the district faces after a jury issued a verdict on the fair value of the 4.08 acres of land. The School District of Beloit is appealing the jury’s ruling.”
