Runway meeting will focus on eminent domain

“The public will get its chance to have a say on Warren County’s proposal to annex land to expand the main runway at the county airport, although a local taxpayers group is concerned the county didn’t do enough to publicize the hearing.

The hearing is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Town Hall’s activities center.

It will focus on the county’s efforts to take property from developer Victor Macri via eminent domain to extend the county airport’s main runway.

Upstate New York Taxpayers Advocates questioned why the only public notice made for the meeting was a legal advertisement

The meeting was not included on the monthly meeting schedule distributed to county supervisors; county, state and local officials; and members of the media.”
