Henry Street issue resolved

“A less than full Bellefontaine City Council worked quickly through its agenda resolving a seven-month-old eminent domain issue and approving two percent pay increases for the police and fire departments.

With council members David Haw and Deb Baker absent, the council was unable to adopt any ordinances on first or second reading.

However, they tabled for good an eminent domain measure.

City Law Director Howard Traul II reported to council members that the city closed a $50,000 property deal with Robinson Investments Ltd. on a vacated portion of Henry Street earlier Tuesday.

With the acquisition complete, Bellefontaine no longer needs to pursue legal action to regain the right-of-way.”
