County’s land grab for parkway ‘unconscionable’

“He and his family have lived on the land west of Melbourne a lifetime, farming, ranching, taking care of the land for future generations, and being good stewards of the earth.

Do we really need the planned St. Johns Heritage Parkway so badly to work an injustice against Mr. Platt? If so, build an overpass across his property so he and his family can access it and have beneficial use of the other half of the property without having to drive miles to the nearest crossover.

Better yet, run the whole parkway west of the Platt property, down Simmons Road, to spare him the agony of having his land cut in half, and then putting up with noisy traffic and ever-increasing auto exhaust pollution.”
