Lynchburg city attorney awaits appraisal in eminent domain case
“Lynchburg will continue to try to reach an agreement with the property owner in the recent eminent domain case it filed, according to the city attorney’s office.
City Attorney Walter Erwin said officials are still awaiting the results of a new appraisal that property owner Wayne Henson had planned to commission.
Once that appraisal is in, Erwin said, a new round of discussions will be held in the hopes of reaching an agreement.
Henson was the owner of a rental home at 3010 Wards Ferry Road, directly next to the entrance to Heritage High School.
It was one of six properties the city took steps to acquire to make way for the reconstruction of Heritage High.”
