Dixon City Council to re-explore development plan
“Dixon leaders are set to re-explore, on Tuesday, a controversial proposition to partner with the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) in connection with a development plan that could revitalize the downtown area.
At issue is whether to get onboard with a Priority Development Area (PDA) plan, designed in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
If the reworked proposal gets City Council approval, leaders will be asked to OK a cooperative agreement between the city and the STA, approve amending PDA boundaries and approve a related budget amendment to provide a local match.
The matter was voted down 3-1 in January, with Vice Mayor Thom Bogue and councilmen Steve Bird and Jerry Castanon dissenting. Councilman Dane Besneatte was absent from proceedings.”
