Eminent domain hearing set for arena parcel
“Though not attracting as much attention as a potential ballot measure, another court action relating to the downtown arena will get its first hearing March 11.
According to city arena project manager Desmond Parrington, that’s when the city’s eminent domain action for the piece of property where the arena itself will first be heard in court.
The city of Sacramento council opted to take that step in January, after negotiations didn’t prove fruitful with the servicer of the property, a now largely vacant portion of Downtown Plaza that fell into foreclosure in 2012.”
