Phoenixville board sounds off on eminent domain acquisition
“In Thursday night’s board meeting, the Phoenixville Area School Board voted 7-2 to use eminent domain acquire Meadow Brook Golf Course as a site for building to solve capacity issues.
According to the school district, it came down to two potential sites for the combined early learning center/East Pikeland Building: Meadow Brook and the former site of Center for Arts and Technology-Pickering, which was ruled out due to liabilities associated with development costs.
Josh Gould and Dan Cushing voted against the measure, but those who voted in favor of the measure also voiced some reluctance at having to resort to eminent domain.”
