Next battle in Solberg legal war set for Monday
“The battleground over the future of Solberg Airport will move on Monday from the courtroom to the Readington Township Municipal Building.
The township committee is scheduled to hold a public hearing at 7:45 p.m. Monday on an ordinance that expands the amount of land that the township wants to acquire at the airport on the eastern border of the township through its power of eminent domain. The ordinance was introduced at the Oct. 21 township committee meeting.
In Superior Court, Readington has filed a motion to amend its eminent-domain suit against Solberg Airport so the municipality can acquire all of the aviation facilities on the property, a move opposed by the airport in the latest skirmish of the long-running battle between the township and the airport.”
