Long Beach Twp. to pursue eminent domain for oceanfront easements
“During Friday’s Board of Commissioners meeting, Long Beach Township’s governing body introduced an ordinance that would clear the way for the municipality to use eminent domain to acquire the 50 easements still needed for the project. Long Beach Township has 480 oceanfront properties.
“For the last five years, we have been working every day to get easements needed for the project,” Mayor Joseph Mancini said. “We have been doing this pre-superstorm Sandy. We have the largest beach in the state, and it’s extremely important that we get this done.””
