CCWD trustees begin eminent domain process

“A public hearing has been scheduled before the Clark County Water Reclamation District Board of Trustees regarding the acquisition by eminent domain of a right-of-way on the former Mohave Generating Station property.

According to background documents before the trustees, Laughlin Lift Station 2 conveys more than 600,000 gallons of wastewater daily from the west side of Laughlin to the treatment facility via 11,320 linear feet of a pressurized force main and 3,060 linear feet of gravity sewer. The pipelines were installed in 1985 under a letter of license agreement, but a recent assessment of the pipelines, “found that over half of the existing force main and the entire existing gravity sewer was constructed outside of the defined license agreement.””
