CSU buying land near proposed stadium site
“CSU representatives have begun buying property near the site of a proposed on-campus football stadium in the center of Fort Collins, and are talking with other landowners about buying even more.
This summer, the Colorado State University Research Foundation paid $340,000 for a 1,500-square-foot home at 615 W. Lake St., about 100 feet from where the stadium would be built, property records show. In August, CSURF also bought a small home at 634 W. Prospect Road and a duplex at 626 W. Prospect, for $750,000. Those homes sold to CSURF by the same owner share a back property line with the Lake Street houses fronting the stadium site.
CSU officials declined to comment on the purchases of seven Lake Street and Prospect Road properties at a combined cost of nearly $3.5 million, other than to insist they were unconnected to the stadium project.”
