Village Mobil gas pumps out for roundabout

“s demolition crews descended on Village Mobil’s canopy and pumps this week, owners Pete Treinen and Dan Miller looked on in frustration.

Since the Department of Transportation (DOT) began planning a roundabout at Waunakee’s Century Avenue and Main Street intersection, the condemnation process has consumed much of the business owners’ time.

“Every time I turn around, it’s another issue that comes and takes my time away,” Treinen said.
The roundabout is turning the business Treinen and Miller have built over the past 32 years on its head. With its construction infringing on the pump island next year, the business partners are losing part of the land to eminent domain.
