“Officials are looking to add 1,000 feet to the runway to give planes extra space to land since American Eagle wants to phase out smaller planes that currently fly in and out of the airport.
Bigger planes, even slightly bigger, need bigger runways.
But the problem is an extended runway would cut into Roscoe Eisenhauer’s land.
“I think there’s still a lot of room for negotiation. I think there are a lot of issues that still have to be worked out,” he said.
But if issues aren’t worked out, the county may just take the land through eminent domain as a last resort.”
