City’s use of eminent domain reckless, family says
“A cross complaint has been filed by the attorney for Jim and Lois Moe against the City of Chino Hills in the eminent domain action against a portion of the family’s property that the city says is required for the construction of the third phase of Peyton Drive.
Negotiations between the city and the Moes, who have lived for 35 years on the east side of Peyton Drive, south of Eucalyptus Avenue, halted last July. The Moes said they had concerns about the agreement and asked an attorney to review it.
David Hubbard, attorney for the Moes, said the agreement presented by the city removed city liabilities, lacked clarity, omitted timelines, and restricted the rights of his clients.”
