Southwest suburbs brace for a long fight against private water company
“The lawsuit against American Lake Water Co. was filed by Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Woodridge, Lemont and Homer Glen under an organization the towns created called the Northern Will County Water Agency.
The lawsuit seeks to take over control of the Bedford Park water transmission line, which brings Lake Michigan water to customers in the southwest suburbs.
At this week’s agency meeting, agency attorney Daniel Formeller told the towns’ mayors that the jury trial would proceed in 11/2 years if the suit withstands an expected challenge from American Lake Water’s legal team.”
