County Airport to Claim So. Thomaston Too-Tall Trees by Eminent Domain
“Knox County Commissioners acted on Tuesday, June 11, to claim access to three private South Thomaston properties to cut trees that are poking into the airspace in the approach path to the Knox County Regional Airport in Owls Head.
Under the Federal Aviation Administration rules, the airport must keep the approach to the airport clear of obstructions, including any trees that grow within 15 feet of the approach zone. “
