Commission members voted unanimously Tuesday to proceed with condemnations proceedings against two-tenths of an acre of private property on Grandi Road.

It was the last piece of property we needed to acquire for the right-of-way,” Commission Chairman Jack Volpato said. “They wanted something more (over the amount of money the county had offered). We tried to negotiate with them but we could not come to a resolution.”

The county plans to eventually build a loop road around the east side of the city that would that would link would link U.S. Highway 285 coming from the north with Highway 62-180 on the south side of the city.”
