District: Final offer refused
“The Truckenbrods rejected a final offer made to them by the School District of Beloit for their land at 2570 Milwaukee Road on Tuesday. District officials say the eminent domain issue now will move to court as scheduled May 6.
Also on Wednesday the district announced it is considering buying 3.19 acres at 2554 Milwaukee Road owned by Mary Densch and her husband Steve Willis to bring the total land acreage for the new southeast intermediate school up to roughly 12 acres. The plan calls for an additional two acres of outdoor space to be shared with Beloit Health System. Superintendent Steve McNeal said the district offered Anna and Larry Truckenbrod what he considered a fair price last week. He said he gave them until Friday, April 26 to accept it. On Tuesday they rejected the offer, McNeal said.”
