Colorado Legislative Update on Urban Renewal

“The 2012 Colorado General Assembly convened on January 11, 2012. Several hundred bills have been introduced so far, and drafts of not-yet-introduced bills are circulating.
While other urban renewal bills may yet be introduced, the first bill addressing urban renewal is one that claims to require needed “transparency” regarding the operation of urban renewal authorities. But the bill does much more than that, and is likely to make both existing and future urban renewal projects more costly and time consuming, or worse, burden them to the point of preventing the projects from moving forward.”
