Waukee council hopes to finalize land deal
“The Waukee City Council on Monday delayed a decision on using eminent domain to acquire farmland to complete the Alice’s Road project, which the city sees as essential to economic growth.
All four members of the council unanimously voted to delay using eminent domain for the project during a special meeting.
City Administrator Tim Moerman recommended delaying condemning property between University Avenue and Ashworth Road. Instead, city officials will attempt to hash out development agreements with two groups of landowners, Lolowau LLC and Arac LLC. No representatives from either company addressed the council Monday.”
