Florence backs off on acid ban
“The Town Council has agreed unanimously to lift its 8-month-old ban on sulfuric acid, avoiding a showdown with Curis Resources in federal court. The town, however, continues to pursue eminent domain to acquire the Florence Copper Project property.
Prior to the council vote regarding a proposed mining operation, Town Attorney James Mannato told the council that town staff had considered two questions en route to recommending that the council rescind its sulfuric acid ordinance.”
