Aurora could be overpaying for Fanfare property
“Aurora’s Urban Renewal Authority will finalize a contract today to purchase the blighted Fanfare property, but The Denver Post reports the price could be far more than what the city considers its value to be.
The property, which measures 10 acres at Havana Street and East Third Avenue, is home to a series of buildings that were once a discount shopping center. But the property hasn’t been used for at least 28 years.
Fanfare is owned by Herbert Buchwald of Denver, who’s offering the property “as is” for $2.75 million — or $4 million and he’ll have the buildings demolished and the site cleaned of any contaminants.”
