Virginia amendment to limit eminent domain passes!
Voters overwhelmingly approved a constitutional amendment that some officials contend will make it nearly impossible for Virginia localities to seize private property for redevelopment.
“When you give the voters a chance to affirm their constitutional rights, they take it. You don’t really own your property if the government can take it from you and give it to someone else,” sponsor Del. Rob Bell, R-Charlottesvill.
