Northglenn council approves eminent domain for Huron Center
“The City Council on Monday night voted to enforce eminent domain over the Huron Center strip mall, a 10.5-acre property on the corner of Huron Street and 104th Avenue that has been in decline for more than a decade.
“I have lived in that neighborhood for most of my life, and I have to say that it’s really sad (to see the Huron Center today),” said Northglenn resident Susan Epstein. “We have waited far too long for something to happen with that property.”
During a public hearing last month, the council decided to give the shopping center’s partial land owner, Impala Capital, a 30-day window to come up with a redevelopment plan that could satisfy the city’s desires for how the property should be handled.”
