Aurora shows support for Gaylord hotel project

“The Aurora City Council, acting as the Aurora Urban Renewal Authority, this week unanimously passed a resolution supporting a Houston company’s plan to build the Gaylord Rockies hotel/conference center near Denver International Airport.

The Aurora Sentinel reports the resolution, which was passed without comment, supports Rida Development Corp.’s financing the $800 million project. The Texas company will be reimbursed by the urban renewal authority “to the extent possible” from future tax increment financing funds when the hotel opens.”
