Narberth eyes gas station property for public use

“Narberth Borough has taken the first steps to acquire a parcel of land in the downtown for public use.

Borough Council at its December meeting authorized the preparation and advertisement of an ordinance that details its intention to acquire a parcel at 100 Forrest Ave. The commercially-zoned lot, which has been used as a gas station for decades, is located across Haverford Avenue from Narberth’s Train Station Circle.

In this instance, the ordinance indicates the parcel would be used for parking and to provide a staging area for public recreational events.
