Sabal Trail to install taps in Georgia
“Sabal Trail Transmission will install two side taps on its proposed pipeline in Georgia, company officials claimed this week.
Sabal Trail director of stakeholder outreach Andrea Grover said Wednesday the decision was made as the result of ongoing discussions with the Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia.
“MGAG currently has seven member cities within 15 miles of Sabal Trail’s proposed pipeline route in southwest Georgia, and has identified Dougherty County and Colquitt County as having the greatest potential to need additional gas supplies in the future,” Grover said.
In letters obtained by The Valdosta Daily Times and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Sabal Trail, and its representing law firm, Hunton & Williams, have cited Georgia code 22-3-88 that states that eminent domain can be exercised by entities that are constructing pipelines that will furnish the state with natural or artificial gas.”
