Vermont Gas Systems welcomes opportunity to open dialogue with concerned landowners group

“Vermont Gas Systems (VGS) today announced that it will open a direct dialogue with a group of landowners who have raised concerns about the proposed extension of Vermont’s natural gas infrastructure into Addison County and about the company’s negotiations with landowners. The group includes landowners who have met with Governor Peter Shumlin to discuss their concerns.

“VGS seeks a fair, reasonable, and respectful agreement with every landowner whose property lies within the gas pipeline route approved by the Vermont Public Service Board,” said VGS Vice President Jim Sinclair. “We look forward to meeting this group of landowners and working with them to achieve positive outcomes. We will not ask the Public Service Board to begin new eminent domain proceedings until we have exhausted our efforts to reach amicable agreements.””
