Denver, 2 other Colorado cities will duke it out for state tourism funding
“It looks like Denver will have some competition in its attempt to get Regional Tourism Act funding for its planned revitalization of the National Western Stock Show complex.
Three groups of local governments have begun the application process for the last round of RTA funding, which is given by the Colorado Economic Development Commission for projects that are expected to bring in large numbers of tourists from out of state, said Jeff Kraft, director of business funding and incentives for the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade.
A maximum of two of them can receive tax-increment financing agreements that are expected to be decided around the end of 2015.”
